![]() Burial Services for Lt. Roosevelt 2nd Lt. William Preston places a cross on Lt. Quentin Roosevelt's grave. Quentin was shot down over France on July 14, 1918. According to his parent's wishes, Lt. Roosevelt's body remained in France. Many other families left their sons' bodies overseas, and the Roosevelt family's example was cited as an important factor in these decisions. Courtesy: National Archives, RG 111, Photo no. 18913 |
