Pilgrimage of Remembrance

Amy L. Evans, First Woman to Decorate Her Son's Grave Amy L. Evans from Nebraska became the first woman to decorate her son's grave during the pilgrimages. She traveled with Party A in 1930, when she knelt at the grave of her son, Private Samuel Evans, in the Suresnes American Cemetery outside Paris.
