The grave of Sgt. Earl E. Miller, Illinois. After the war, Mrs. Miller shared what she knew of her son's death. "A shrapnel hit my son; he died at first aid. He was the only one that day. They all ducked, but alas it took him," is how I reported her remarks in my book.
